Extradition from France of Luigi Bestetti, fugitive from 2009

Luigi Bestetti, 67enne from Verbania, who was arrested last July by French police in Ajaccio (Corsica) where he had built a new identity working as a cook, came back to Italy, escorted by staff of the SCIP (International Police Cooperation Service).

Bestetti, inserted by the SCO (Central Operative Police Service) in the list of the most dangerous fugitives, in the 1994 was guilty of the murder of a vigilante during an assault on a security door and in the 2009 was condemned by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of the Court of Milan to life imprisonment.

The close collaboration between the Italian and French police forces, favored by international cooperation, has allowed the identification and therefore the arrest of the fugitive. Guns were found in his home at 2, confirming the current danger of the fugitive.

Upon arrival at Fiumicino, the formalities of arrest on the national territory will be carried out in the Air Border Police Offices and will then be taken to prison to serve his sentence.
