The mission of a Falcon 9.30 aircraft of the 50st Wing of the Italian Air Force with a small patient of just 31 months on board has just ended, for which it was necessary, due to the serious conditions of health, emergency medical transport from the Sassari Hospital to the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa, where she was hospitalized.

The life-saving flight, requested by the Prefecture of Sassari, was immediately coordinated by the Summit Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room of the Air Force which has among its tasks also that of arranging and managing this type of missions through the activation of one of the aircraft that the Armed Force keeps ready, 24 hours a day, in various bases, for this kind of need.

The jet aircraft, which initially took off from Ciampino airport (RM) in the early morning of today, reached Alghero airport where it boarded the little patient, a parent and the medical team who ensured her health care during the flight. The Falcon 50 then took off towards Genoa; once landed, the little patient was transferred to the pediatric hospital in the Ligurian capital.

Missions of this type require maximum timeliness. The Air Force Flight Departments are available to the community 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with vehicles and crews capable of operating, even in complex weather conditions, to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger to life, but also to organs, medical teams or ambulances.
