In Colleferro Monday 23 September at 20.00, on the occasion of the celebrations of San Pio da Pietrelcina, protector of Civil Protection, the local group "Artigiani della Pace" organized a "torchlight procession for peace" with the patronage of the Municipality of Colleferro

Pope Francis said, in a heartfelt appeal to the superpowers, that he is concerned about the current international instability where a Third World War is already being fought piecemeal. In fact, there are over 55 ongoing conflicts on the planet that are divided between high intensity ones and less bloody ones but which, however, can flare up at any moment. The sum of these tensions that range from the Arctic to Africa, from the Middle East to the Pacific, are leading the world towards a phase of unprecedented instability. The growing militarization of all the contenders, economic rivalries and nuclear tensions are creating the conditions for a possible escalation global. The risk of a Third World War, fueled by tensions between nuclear powers, competition for resources and geopolitical rivalries, has never been more real. If diplomatic solutions to these crises are not found, the world could face a devastating conflict that would undermine the global peace and stability that were hard-won in the 20th century, after two world wars.
IIn such a dramatic situation, peaceful demonstrations are taking place throughout the Western world. It is no coincidence that in Colleferro, on Monday 23 September at 20.00:XNUMX pm, there will be a “Torchlight Procession for Peace”, precisely to try to launch another heartfelt appeal to the powerful of the Earth to return to a world where peace and prosperity reign for all.
Organized by the Municipal Civil Protection Group – Artisans of Peace – the torchlight procession intends to contribute, together with other events at a global level, to sensitize States and Governments to express every possible diplomatic effort to avert theescalation of ongoing wars that would lead the world to an inevitable Third World War.
