At the same time the driver, having abandoned the vehicle, disappeared on foot in the nearby wooded area making him lose his tracks.

Inside the van there were n. 8 boys from Bangladesh, all minors, who paid for the illegal trip figures between 1600 and 1800 €. The young migrants were then taken to the local children's hospital to undergo the necessary investigations, the outcome of which six of them were discharged with a prognosis of a few days for the bruises reported and entrusted to a shelter for minors, while the the remaining two were kept for observation due to violent trauma and fractures.

A little later, the Ford Focus was traced, on board of which the two who had supplied the Passat used to relay the load of migrants were identified.

On the basis of the evidence acquired, the Macedonian was arrested for the crime of aiding and abetting illegal immigration in competition while the others were subjected to arrest as a suspect.
