“The alarm cry that has arisen in recent days from the nursery sector has not gone unheeded. Seeds, plants, fruit plants, ornamental flowers, potted plants, fertilizers, can be produced, transported, marketed. And the shops for sale will remain open. Everywhere. Not only in the large-scale distribution ".
So Minister Teresa Bellanova, in commenting on the FAQ published during the night which clearly explains the flower and nursery activities allowed pursuant to the Dpcm, article 1, paragraph 1, letter f, of 22 March last.
"By agricultural products we mean, and it could not be otherwise," says the Minister, "the nursery gardening activities, which fall within the range of agricultural crops. A relevant segment, as the numbers testify: 100 thousand employees in 27 thousand companies for over 2.5 billion euros in turnover beyond the related activities, including the part relating to marketing.
The joint work carried out in these days by our offices with those of the Ministry of Economic Development, and with the important contribution of the Associations, saves a crucial sector for our country, fundamental for our agriculture. The associations feared having to send tons and tons of goods to waste. It will not be like this. Now we can focus on how to guarantee the sector, even in the next law decree, further peace of mind for businesses and workers. "
