Med-Or Foundation signs a collaboration agreement with INSS of Tel Aviv

Signed, during the visit to Israel of the President of the Med-Or Foundation Marco Minniti, a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) in Tel Aviv.

The Med-Or Foundation and the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) of Tel Aviv initiate a cooperation relationship through the development of joint research projects on geopolitical and security issues in the enlarged Mediterranean.

The Memorandum, signed on Tuesday 7 March 2023 by the President of the Med-Or Foundation, Marco Minniti, and by the Executive Director of the INSS, Prof. Manuel Trajtenberg, appears as the first agreement of this kind between an Italian entity and a Israeli.

“For the Med-Or Foundation, the start of this collaboration relationship with INSS is extremely important and makes us particularly proud – says Marco Minniti, President of Med-Or. – We will have the opportunity to develop joint research and scientific cooperation projects on topics and in strategic sectors that are at the heart of our work programmes. INSS is in fact an important reality at an international level, above all for its activities on issues such as security and geopolitics, and we will be able to work together to explore increasingly relevant issues for our two countries, also in the light of the extraordinary changes that the The Mediterranean is an object and which will see Italy and Israel increasingly involved in the coming years.”

The INSS is an independent and non-profit think tank, which thanks to innovative research and high standards, and the presence of researchers from academia and from the Israeli security and intelligence world, is widely considered, qualitatively speaking, among the top defense and security think tanks in the Middle East region and internationally.

The object of the collaboration agreement is the organization of in-depth events and seminars, in Italy and in Israel, on issues and issues of common interest relating to foreign, defense and security policies; the development of exchange programs between researchers of the INSS and the Med-Or Foundation to acquire new perspectives and knowledge on the respective regions; the funding of scholarships (provided by Med-Or) to Israeli students for master's courses at Italian universities; finally, the establishment of an annual "working" dialogue between Med-Or and INSS to discuss issues of mutual interest, assess the status of the partnership and explore new perspectives for cooperation.
