Qatar, Arab quartet, excluding military intervention for end-of-crisis

The hypothesis of a military intervention to put an end to the diplomatic crisis in the Gulf is excluded. This is clear from the four Arab countries (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt) that on June 5 decided to interrupt diplomatic and commercial relations with Qatar, accused of supporting terrorism. The quartet instead insisted that Qatar meet the 13 requests made to end the crisis without negotiations. The statement, released by the Saudi news agency Spa, is a response to the statements made by the Emir of Kuwait Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah in Washington, where he said that Qatar has accepted the requests and is negotiating them , adding that Kuwaiti mediation avoided military intervention. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt insist that the requests must be accepted unconditionally and deny Kuwait's role in preventing military intervention, arguing that this hypothesis had not been considered. The only way to resolve the crisis, they said, is to put an end to the financing and support of terrorism.
