GB: Queen Elizabeth confers knighthood on the Italian Bragagni. The CEO of Tratos is the first Italian to receive an honor after Brexit

The Tuscan entrepreneur Maurice Bragagni he was awarded the title of Officer of the Order of the British Empire. There Queen Elizabeth II conferred the honor of BOTH (Officer of the British Empire) to the chief executive officer of Tratos UK, the Italian-British multinational of high-tech cables with plants in Italy and the United Kingdom and a branched presence throughout the world. Bragagni is the first Italian to receive a British honor since Brexit.

The British sovereign, according to the Buckingham Palace motivation, considered Bragagni worthy for the "services he rendered in business and for his volunteer work in the service of politics". 

Bragagni is also a Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and Honorary Consul of San Marino in the United Kingdom, and chairs the Esharelife foundation, a social enterprise created to use great art to support good works and which last year collected substantial funds to support the AVSI Foundation Project in Kenya. The Tuscan entrepreneur also founded the Italian section of the British Conservative Party, the “British Italian Conservative”, and is considered very close to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and former Prime Minister Theresa May. 

In 2019, Queen Elizabeth granted Tratos the "Queen's Award for Innnovation”: It was the first time that an Italian company was awarded the“ Oscar ”for technological innovation conferred by the British Crown. Bragagni, who is “Freeman” of the City of London, is also a lecturer at the Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), the prestigious academic institution based in the heart of London's financial district.
