The United Nations, with the exception of the United States, today launches a long-term negotiation that will culminate in the signing in December in Morocco of a non-binding global pact on migration.
The signing of the document shared by all nations is considered as one of the main challenges for the planet. The program foresees, up to July, six rounds of negotiations which will take place in New York. The aim is to reach an agreement that will then be formally ratified on 10 and 11 December during a summit which, according to diplomatic sources, should be held in Morocco.
The aim indicated in the draft text entitled "World Agreement on Safe, Ordinary and Legitimate Migration" is to "increase cooperation on international migration in all its dimensions".
