MIPAAF, Bellanova: “contribution of oenologists and oenologists decisive in the wine industry. Sustainability key word and sharing factor "

“Looking back at our work on a national level and on European tables, yesterday I wanted to launch the idea of a new“ Development Plan ”for the entire Italian wine chain, capable of speaking to the future and monitoring what will happen in the coming years. And it is also for this reason that I asked Minister Di Maio to quickly activate a table with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ICE, and representatives of the entire wine sector. An organic project capable of systematizing the many good practices activated over the years, and to value all the experience gained, critical points included, especially to strengthen the international context where Made in Italy is highly appreciated and where, however, we are unable to be present and strong as we could.

By gathering all the available energies, and finding the sharing factor in sustainability, so as to bring together interests that are not always aligned today.

Sustainability which I already consider to be a decisive element and unifying factor: in 2021 we will launch the unitary sustainability certification system; in this direction we will orient all the intervention tools available that will come from the new CAP and the Next generation EU. It is not up to me to say how much the role of oenologists, which I hope more and more numerous, and of oenologists can be decisive in this direction and fundamental in terms of innovation, in the intertwining between local and global, in safeguarding the territory and care of our landscapes, in the increasingly pressing relationship between individual territories and the world, between memory and the future. Your contribution is essential ".

Thus Minister Teresa Bellanova opening the Assoenologi Congress Day this morning together with Assoenologi President Riccardo Cotarella and VeronaFiere General Manager Giovanni Mantovani.

"You know", Bellanova said, "in this year my attention to the wine sector has always been very high, as on the other hand for the entire agri-food chain, and there have been constant and numerous comparisons with all of you in the need to monitor moment by moment the picture that was presented before our eyes, having as reference only one, priority objective: to secure the sector, businesses, workers and workers. All the work done has gone and will go in this direction, convinced as I am that only in this way can we concretely and realistically plan a restart and relaunch.

Words that have rightly become the keystone of our policies; they have characterized all the measures taken in recent months; identify the structure of the budget law now to the attention of Parliament where it is no coincidence that we allocate considerable resources to the supply chains; characterize the structure of our National Strategy for the Agricultural, Agri-food, Fisheries and Aquaculture System as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

An overall and organic system, therefore, in which rightly fits - I want to emphasize - also the modification to the production specification of Prosecco Rosé Doc for which we recently had the green light from Europe, with the new Doc to which I am making my best wishes and that allows producers a further leverage to control and conquer international markets ".
