(by Massimiliano D'Elia) Salvini plays the charge of a "government with balls" and announces a sovereign reversal in Europe. Di Maio harangues his followers with a smile. Ready for the Christmas 'retreat' with Alessandro Di Battista, returning from South America.

"Dibba" calls the deputy premier "brother" and says he wants to go back to denying some "bullshit" about him. But on Di Maio's proposal to act as a 'frontman' to the Europeans, the former deputy is not unbalanced for now.

These animes after the troubled passage of the 2019 maneuver to the Senate.

It never happened that the economic maneuver came in "cesarini area", but in the end after much controversy and with confidence in the classroom, the change maneuver was approved and stamped by the General Accounting Office of the State.

Accusations and bipartisan observations have tried to dismantle the “compromise” maneuver piece by piece, the maneuver, the result of an exhausting back and forth in Europe and Italy. The only winner, the one who came out best of all, was the prime minister Giuseppe Conte. The memory of his timid appearance, immediately after his appointment as head of the government, remains only in the images of the time. He has shown calmness, refinement, unparalleled mediation skills and an admirable spirit of survival in the face of the unpredictability of events.

The two majority shareholders of the government, Matteo Salvini and Luigi Di Maio, after months of proclamations and invective come out strongly resized (FI reveals it after having commissioned a very secret poll that would see the League and the M5S and the two leaders in significant decline).

Salvini and Di Maio deflated and eventually had to yield to the diktat of the European institutions. Even if Italy did not come out completely defeated and supine, in any case it could not dictate "in toto" its unscrupulous and contemptuous line of community rules. Europe, the rating agencies and the spread have practically "tamed" the two vice premieres who, for now, have had to accept a 2,04 per cent deficit / GDP with a growth forecast of 1 per cent and not all '1,5 percent. Not to mention the safeguard clauses on VAT and on the January coupon by the EU Commission. Cornered for now, awaiting the next European elections at the end of May.

After the tour de force in the Senate, however, Lega leader Matteo Salvini and M5S Luigi Di Maio wanted to secure their electorate by saying that “it's just the beginning”. Few hints on the two most anticipated measures, citizenship income and the 100 share for pensions. They will start from next March and not from January and, above all, towards a still uncertain audience.

Di Maio on citizenship income, however, blurted out saying: "I am in this government until we carry out more rights for the people". In the M5s there are those who read the message as addressed to those who, even in the League, have from the beginning held back on the check at 780 euros for the lowest incomes.

The money is there and the measure will start "in March", says Di Maio. And on the M5s blog appears a calculation "proof of elementary school student and journalist" which would prove that 7,1 billion is enough to cover the measure.

However, there are those in the government who continue to argue that it will be difficult to make ends meet, since that money is also used for citizenship pensions and employment centers.

In the meantime, other tensions are also agitating the majority. Nicola Morra, pentastellato president of the Anti-Mafia commission, raises the alarm on a Northern League law to raise the threshold for the direct award of public contracts: “I will work to change it”, he promises.

The opposition (PD and FI), on the other hand, is betting that the government will not last. The electoral campaign as adversaries for the Europeans, they argue, will alienate the two leaders. But Salvini, who in a "videoconference" with Silvio Berlusconi and Giorgia Meloni signs the agreement on the single candidate for the regional in Abruzzo, dismisses them with a shrug: the government "lasts five years" and in January, he announces, the League starts again on self-defense and autonomy for the Northern regions.
