The Government makes Parliament work during Christmas: "the first time in history"

“We are in the Cesarini area”, the premier admitted yesterday, adding that “we realize that we have created a slowdown in parliamentary work in spite of ourselves.

We trust that the maneuver in the Senate can be approved ".

The vote of confidence tonight Another delay that had seemed inevitable since the early afternoon: of the government maxi-amendment, expected within the 16, no trace. A group leaders' conference was convened to establish a new work schedule.

The President of the Senate, Elisabetta Casellati, announced yesterday the new convocation of the assembly for today at 14, with the discussion of trust starting from 16. The voting declarations, broadcast live on television and will be followed by the 20.30.

The outcome of the vote of confidence is therefore expected at 22.30 pm.

La Casellati, very taken by the story: “While I understand the difficulties of the government, even in interlocution with the EU, I am obliged to invite the majority and the government to have a more regular legislative path, not with this intermittent timing. A respectful path to the Senate Assembly ".

The reaction of the Democratic leader Andrea Marcucci,we do not yet have the text that will completely change the maneuver. Parliament has not had the opportunity to see the maneuver. We are against the Constitution". In this way the PD will occupy the Hall, which lasted about half an hour after the end of the session.

Forza Italia with Annamaria Bernini"We are at the political Caporetto of the government that does a disgruntled thing against the Italian people. Teasing Parliament for twenty days is a disfigurement for their constituents".

Conte postpones a press conference at the end of the year to be held in the Senate. A decision taken when the calendar of the works provided that, on Saturday morning, the maneuver had already moved to Montecitorio for the third reading but that, with the new postponement, created a further difficulty.

"Those who humiliate, those who offend the Senate of the Republic cannot have hospitality here", Marcucci thundered again, while Bernini announced that he wanted to wait for the premier to "tell us, in our home, before the Italians, the contents that unfortunately the Parliament still does not know ”.

An opportunity that will not be there, because shortly after came the communication that "in light of the extension of the time frame for approving the budget law" the conference is postponed to next week.

The Government's reply to the charges of maneuver under dictation: "If we had approved a maneuver under dictation, as happened with the previous governments, we would not be under Christmas to approve it - Salvini claims - Italy has finally made itself heard. If in past years everything went smoothly without a fly flying in Brussels, Paris or Berlin, it is because it suited them and not us.".

Premier Giuseppe Conte: "No embarrassment or guilt for being late, no! I would have concluded the negotiation with the EU the day after and I don't have to justify myself if it lasted so long".

Paramento will work right during the Christmas holidays. The first time in history. Maybe it's the right time!
