The investigation of the Special unit for the protection of privacy and technological frauds of the Guardia di Finanza and prosecutor of Milan which already in April led to the blackout of two Telegram channels with over 4 thousand subscribers: this time 10 channels were seized on the day of the debut of the European Green Pass and over ten thousand people who had joined and were regularly registered. The investigation, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Eugenio Fusco and by the substitutes Maria Baj Macario and Maura Ripamonti, is still underway to identify both sellers and buyers - among the former there could also be public entities, the only ones that in Italy have the availability of vials, while among the latter, organized crime could also have interests - but some elements have already emerged in recent months.
Prices, first of all: those of vaccines ranged from 155 euros for a dose up to 20 thousand for a stock of 800 vials; those for the Green pass could instead reach up to 130 euros for the all-inclusive package: false identification data of the vaccine, Qr code, number that identifies the batch of origin of the first and second dose, home delivery even outside the EU and in particular in the USA, Great Britain and the United States. To date, at least a hundred false green passes have already been identified, thanks to real-time monitoring of the web through artificial intelligences that play the role of 'sentinels' precisely to retrieve and analyze the information circulating on the various channels and identify who sells. and who buys the certificates. The channels, the investigators ascertained, referred to anonymous accounts on specific 'squares' on the dark web through which it was possible to contact the sellers directly and proceed with the purchase. Attention, however, investigative sources underline, anyone found in possession of these false certificates risks up to 6 years of imprisonment and an investigation for fraud or stolen goods.
"The complex investigative activity, still in progress - explains Colonel Gian Luca Berruti of the special unit for the protection of privacy and technological fraud - is aimed at combating offenses connected to the emergency situation that produce serious repercussions on the economy, on the social fabric and on the health of citizens". No trace, however, of the vaccines that the vendors claimed to have. During the investigations, the pharmaceutical manufacturers themselves collaborated with investigators and investigators precisely to try to identify what could be the supply channels, reiterating that in our country no private individual has ever received doses of the vaccine. "The investigations carried out show that there are no private channels for the marketing of the vaccines in question“, Confirms the investigating judge Guido Salvini which, however, in the provision validating the seizure, adds: "however, at present, it is possible that the subjects who sell vaccines through the channels have actually come into possession of vials through a parallel market ”.
