It was blind violence that took place on the morning of December 20 last year to the detriment of a Rai troupe which was producing some services connected with the pandemic emergency on behalf of the broadcast “Italian Stories”.
Coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Rome, it took just a few hours for the investigators of the Digos of the Rome Police Headquarters and the Carabinieri of the Compagnia Trionfale who, with the support of the PS Prati Commissariat, traced the identity of two of the members of the assailant group , including the person who first hired and hit the Rai operator for futile reasons.
These are two subjects who boast a full-bodied pedigree attributable to the ranks of the Lazio ultras, already known for their involvement in episodes of stadium violence.
The two television operators, after a few city stops, had reached the area of the Milvio bridge where they were documenting a group of people who were entertaining themselves in the square, without protective masks.
Annoyed by the presence of two operators, especially the cameramen, one of the members of the group approached the two Rai operators threateningly and, after unduly asking for explanations on their work without even waiting for an answer, violently hit the cameramen.
The operators' attempt to escape was followed by a further aggression by the "pack", which saw the cameramen repeatedly hit with kicks and punches, even after being ruined on the road and after being chased by the group of violent men.
For both, at the conclusion of an investigative activity conducted with particular speed by the investigators, house arrest and searches of their respective homes were triggered in the early hours of dawn.
The investigative result, which allows to censor even in this circumstance an episode of gratuitous violence and symptomatic of an unjustifiable arrogance, incompatible with the legal system in force and with the most basic rules of social coexistence, represents only one piece of an investigation. which is still in progress and which sees the investigators of the Digos and the Compagnia Trionfale engaged in identifying the additional members of the herd who, also exploiting the numerical superiority and the physiological inability to defend themselves from the victims, contributed to the consummation of the cowardly gesture.
