Helicopter rescue in Frosinone thanks to the 72nd Wing: 60 stopovers in 2019

The entire district of Frosinone, also for 2020, will be able to count on the important airport offered by the Air Force, for all those health emergencies that require urgent transport. A few days ago, the HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) memorandum of understanding between the 72nd Wing of Frosinone, ARES 118 Lazio, the ASL of Frosinone and the ELITALIANA company was renewed. The memorandum of understanding provides that the air ambulances in service for 118 can land to find operational and logistical support at the “G. Moscardini ”in Frosinone for all 24 hours of the day, for all 365 of the year 2020. A highly qualified support, highly appreciated and above all useful for all citizens of the Frosinone area.

The fruitful collaboration in carrying out the emergency health service in support of the ASL of Frosinone provides for a virtuous exchange of goods and services between administrations: in exchange for the use of the military airport, which allows the helicopter and for the hospital of Frosinone to operate in complete safety, medical services are guaranteed to the staff of the 72nd Wing, in agreement with the local ASL.

Helicopter rescue is a fundamental service for the timeliness of the 118 emergency health system: just think that only in 2019 the ARES 118 Lazio helicopters they made 60 stopovers at the Frosinone Military Airport, of which 37 on holidays and / or during the night.

The 72 ° Stormo, the only school in the rotary wing sector in Italy, is the Department dependent on the Air Force Schools Command / 3 ^ Air Region of Bari, which trains the helicopter pilots of the Arma Azzurra, the other Armed Forces Armed Corps of the State, as well as foreign visitors. The collaborative synergy developed in the field of training at the Frosinone helicopter school is part of the perspective of continuous improvement of training and contextual optimization of resources. The Stormo will be the protagonist, in the near future, of the joint project for the establishment of a helicopter training school with joint connotations, which will see the Air Force in the position of lead service, according to the provisions of the letter of intent signed between the Heads of Staff of the Air Force and the Army.
