HH-139 of the Italian Air Force finds himself missing on the Asiago plateau

An HH-139 helicopter of the 83rd CSAR Group (Combat Search and Rescue) of the 15th Wing of the Air Force of Cervia (RA) took off today to search for a 51-year-old man missing on the Asiago plateau (VI ).

Received the order from the operations room of the Air Operations Command (COA) of Poggio Renatico (FE), responsible for activating the search and rescue service of the Air Force, following the request received from the CNSAS (National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps) from Veneto, the helicopter took off at about 09 am to reach the “Val Formica” refuge on the Asiago plateau where it embarked some CNSAS operators for a joint search of the missing person. The man was found at about 20, thanks to the teamwork of the crew from Cervia and the CNSAS rescue team embarked on board.

The 15 ° Stormo of the Air Force guarantees 24 hours on 24, for 365 days a year, the search and rescue of the flight crews in difficulty, also contributing to public utility activities such as the search for missing at sea or in the mountains, the emergency medical transport of sick people and the rescue of serious traumatized people.
