Home: Abi and ANIA, favor access to credit and insurance coverage for energy and seismic efficiency

Abi and ANIA have signed a Joint Declaration for the valorisation of buildings, to improve energy efficiency and reduce the economic impact of seismic risk.

This is a shared strategy between the banking and insurance sectors in line with the European vision that places the most general environmental, social and governance aspects at the center of the financial sector to facilitate the transformation of the economy into a greener system and more "circular".

A horizon of sustainable finance to which "banks and insurance companies want to contribute effectively - specify the two associations in the text of the declaration - in view of an increase in the request for renovation of private residential properties".

Abi and ANIA, therefore, are also carriers of information and training purposes, aiming at:

  • develop synergies to promote communication and updating on regulatory, tax and regulatory innovations as well as on European or national initiatives affecting the real estate market and energy efficiency, including through the establishment of specific interassociative work groups;
  • launch joint training initiatives to help improve energy efficiency and redevelopment of buildings;
  • analyze and enhance the measurement and performance verification tools, in order to calculate the savings obtained from energy efficiency, which can be used for the design of new financial and insurance products;
  • jointly develop, in compliance with the respective roles and regulations in force, initiatives aimed at encouraging and spreading the culture of prevention, adaptation and mitigation of risks deriving from climate change and seismic events in the country.
