The INPS conference at the ANCI 2021 assembly

The ANCI 2021 assembly was an opportunity to deepen the role of the synergy between INPS and municipalities in the path of generating concrete well-being for the citizens of this country and to think about the value of proximity.

Gabriella Di Michele, Director General of INPS, said: "The effort put in place during the COVID emergency was also possible thanks to the close and continuous collaboration of a multiplicity of actors, stakeholders and institutions on which INPS was able to count for provide its services and whose proactive role has allowed the establishment of a real proximity network. "

In order to continue in this common work with the aim of reaching out to users, INPS has proposed the signing of a framework protocol with ANCI to open INPS points in all the municipalities that will join. This will make it possible to guarantee citizens and businesses an integrated and quality service directly from the staff of the Institute, through the technological assets of INPS. The use of the web meeting service will make it possible to provide INPS advice to citizens everywhere, even in areas where the Institute is not present with its structures.

The importance of a proximity path was shared by the Mayor of Reggio Emilia Luca Vecchi, ANCI Delegate for Welfare and Social Policies, who reiterated how an institutional response to the growing needs of local communities must take into account the fact that there are 8000 municipalities. and have a very diversified territorial and social complexity, to be taken into consideration in the process of co-planning and personalization of services with INPS.

With this in mind, the Mayor Vecchi took the commitment to convey the INPS proposals to the Italian municipalities, stating that with the INPS points that can guarantee the highest degree of proximity possible, at reduced settlement and organizational costs, with the web meeting for the quality consultancy even at a distance, with the interoperability of databases, it is possible to “break down the space-time barriers between citizens, municipalities and INPS and redesign citizenship rights in the sense of equality of opportunities and the effectiveness of the service”.

Lastly, Luca Vecchi, as president of ANCI of Emilia-Romagna, has given his willingness to experiment with pilot projects in the region to which, he said he is convinced, many other institutions and stakeholders will also join.

The closing of the works was entrusted to the Vice President of INPS, Maria Luisa Gnecchi who focused on the need for a season of reforms, recovery, planning that aims at the lasting sustainability of the country's welfare system.
