"Implosion at 5 Stars": Di Maio, river message on Fb. Di Battista answers from the study of the Annunziata

"I don't care if in good or bad faith, but if someone destabilizes the Movement with declarations, events, books, it also destabilizes our ability to orient the government". This is what he writes Luigi Di Maio on Fb referring, without ever quoting it, to Alessandro Di Battista. "Doing so now that the premier is carrying out a very difficult negotiation with the EU is unconscious".

Di Battista, interviewed by Lucia Annunziata on Rai3 on "1/2, replied:"Only Salvini destabilizes the government. I saw the Minister of the Interior announce that he intends to convene the trade unions, this is a way of destabilizing the government, an Interior Minister must be the Minister of the Interior ”.

On Di Maio's words "of fire", Di Battista replied: "Di Maio is a little angry but when one is angry then it clears up".

He then reiterated that he does not intend to destabilize anything and clarified: "I am a former parliamentarian who is not in the government, who expresses ideas on certain issues, and I believe I have the right and the duty after having contributed to making the Movement grow". Di Battista wants to justify his position in the last few hours.

Di Maio: "I am in government to change Italy". The Deputy Prime Minister, on his Fb profile states: "The Movement decided, after the European elections, that I should continue to be the political leader of the Movement. I have always focused my role on one goal: the 5 Star Movement in the Government to change Italy. And so it will be".

"The 5 Stars Movement", Di Maio highlights,"has been governing the seventh world power and the second manufacturing force in Europe for a year: Italy. Every day, when we act as a political force, we have the responsibility of 60 million Italians and often, exercising the power of veto, of 500 million Europeans.

In 2018 we have been voted by around 11 millions of Italians to carry out a program, but above all to bring this country back to the place it deserves in the world. But those 11 million Italians were the 33%, not the 51%. So, in order to get the promised results, we decided to create this government with another political force: the League. We have avoided alliances and signed a contract".

Di Battista: “The League wants to blow everything up. What coverage for the flat tax? "

Di Battista does not agree so much with his colleague Di Maio: "On the part of the League there is a continuous provocation to the detriment of the M5s, because I believe, but I can be wrong, that in the minds of the Lega leaders there is the idea of throwing everything upside down, and this would be serious". On the Flat Tax: "If I were Di Maio I would ask Salvini where he intends to find the money for the flat tax. I totally agree but where is the money?".

Di Maio: "To the government a delicate and bargaining job"

"My role is not at all simple. Every time I managed to get a bill approved, which then, once a law, filled us with pride, I had to make a majority agreement at a majority summit. I sat at the table for hours and nights and I negotiated every point, since we never had an autonomous majority. Every time we made decisions on laws that changed or changed the lives of millions of Italians, I gave my best to find the right frame and get the best result for the citizens, despite the profound differences of views that were inside of the Government. I only did my duty, but this does not mean that it was simple".

"At that table", he recalls, "in one year we managed to find the square on historical measures such as Citizenship Income, Quota 100, Anti-Corruption Law, Dignity Decree, Growth Decree, Unblocking Yards Decree, Annuities cut, pension cut 'gold, release of funds for Italian municipalities, cut by a third of parliamentarians, two billion euros for digital innovation and much more. As many as 8 out of 10 measures were from the 5-star Movement. You will say: 'but they were already in the contract'. Yes. But there is a big difference between saying 'we will make the anti-corruption law' and finding the square on the possibility of unblocking the Trojan virus in wiretapping for corruption. All results that make me proud to belong to the Movement. The strength of bargaining at those tables basically comes from two factors: personal skills and the compactness of the political force you represent. Today I would like to focus on this second point.

When two political forces sit at the table through their political leaders, each of the two must be able to guarantee that the agreements made, the parliamentarians, the mayors, the governors, will act accordingly.
