In action the European Enfast network for the search and capture of dangerous international fugitives

9 fugitives arrested including 6 in Bulgaria, 2 in Germany and 1 in England.

This is the balance of the second operation coordinated by the International Police Cooperation Service of the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police, directed by the Prefect Vittorio Rizzi, as part of the initiative called “BULGARIAN JOB”.

The operation, developed within the European Network Of Fugitive Active Search Teams (ENFAST) through the collaboration between the Italian and Bulgarian FAST teams, had the support of the Italian Security Experts operating in Bulgaria (Sofia), in Germany (Wiesbaden) and England (London), as well as the Judicial Cooperation Office of the Ministry of Justice.

The initiative, aimed at locating Bulgarian citizens abroad affected by Italian restrictive measures and not yet internationalized, which had already led to the arrest of 13 other fugitives on May 6, allowed yesterday and last night to carry out the international restrictive measures issued by various Italian judicial authorities against 9 Bulgarian citizens convicted of crimes such as criminal conspiracy, sexual violence, exploitation of prostitution, aiding illegal immigration, abusive access to IT systems, aggravated robbery, extortion, money laundering and other crimes.

Also in this case, the investigation activities, which started in Italy, had their development and support from the SCIP of Criminalpol and its network of experts around the world to arrive at the arrest of the nine wanted people.

The analysis and constant sharing of information between the Italian and foreign authorities on their movements which took place in the previous weeks, once again allowed for an accurate localization work in 6 different cities in Bulgaria as well as in Germany and England.

Having acquired the certain location of the fugitives, the blitz of the Bulgarian Fast team that took place yesterday and of the German and British police in the previous days was planned.

With this last operation, the arrests carried out in coordination with Bulgaria within the aforementioned “BULGARIAN JOB” initiative have so far been 15 carried out in 4 different countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Sweden and England).

Extradition procedures were immediately initiated to return the 9 arrested to Italy and make them serve the sentences imposed on them.
