On an unusual day of "chaos", Putin speaks to the nation (full speech)

(To Massimiliano D'Elia) All day yesterday the saga continued on the motivations that pushed the leader of the Wagner Prigozhin to rebel against the established power, threateningly advancing towards Moscow rising from the territories battered by the war. Masquerade, high treason, shame of the failure in the war in Ukraine, desire to unmask the impostors in the ranks of the Russian state apparatus, everything and the opposite of everything, so analysts, politicians, journalists and ordinary citizens have painted the picture that sees the protagonists Prigozhin and his attempted coup.

A coup that was liked so much, in which everyone believed and hoped to try to bring down the granite system that characterizes Russian power from within. To dispel any doubts, the head of Wagner took care of it himself who yesterday, in an 11-minute video message on telegram, spoke of a March of Justice and not of a coup against Putin to which he is in any case bound by fraternal friendship.

A march to denounce the many failures on the battlefields in Ukraine due to the inadequacy of the Russian military leadership. March of Justice to help Putin clean up traitors? To bring out those who scheme with Westerners? Who knows, only time will help us to understand better and only the next deaths by means of "polonium" or "assisted suicide" could confirm the thesis of the repulist.

The fact is that Prigozhin has not disappeared into thin air: they would have seen him in a hotel in Minsk, but there is no confirmation. Perhaps he has returned to Africa to manage the affairs of the company which from there recovers the enormous resources useful for its own survival. On the rumors of the dissolution of Wagner, confirmation of his unchanged effectiveness is given by his main office in St. Petersburg where work continues as if nothing had happened.

On the fate of the military leaders, Minister Shoigu and the head of the armed forces Gerasimov, at the moment remain in place even if the totonomi are already raging on the web with figures very close to Putin and above all, by chance, to Wagner.

In conclusion, yesterday there was an unusual day of "chaos" where all the world's attention was focused on the Russian affair. Speaking of chaos within chaos and informational disorder in society as a weapon of modern warfare, I am reminded of the doctrine of General Gerasimov who makes chaos its central pivot. Will it be a coincidence?

Finally last night Putin broke the silence speaking to the nation. Below is the complete speech where there is no direct reference to Prigozhin but to the strength and unity of the Russian people in facing a dangerous internal disorder.

Dear friends!

Today, once again, I address all citizens of Russia. I thank you for your resistance, unity and patriotism. This civic solidarity demonstrates that any blackmail and attempt to create internal unrest is bound to fail.

I repeat, there has been the maximum consolidation of society, the executive and the legislative at all levels. A firm and unequivocal position of support for the constitutional order has been taken by public organizations, religious denominations, major political parties and, in fact, the whole of Russian society. All were united and united by the main thing - responsibility for the fate of the Motherland.

I stress that since the beginning of the events all the necessary decisions have been taken promptly to neutralize the threat, protect the constitutional order, the lives and the safety of our citizens.

An armed insurrection would have been crushed in any case. The organizers of the mutiny, despite their loss of relevance, could not but understand this. They understood everything, including that they took criminal action to divide and weaken the country, which was now facing a huge external threat, unprecedented pressure from outside. When at the front with the words "Not a step back!" our comrades are dying.

However, the organizers of the mutiny, having betrayed their country, their people, also betrayed those whom they dragged into crime. They lied to them, pushed them to die, under fire, to shoot their own comrades.

This was the outcome – fratricide – that Russia's enemies wanted: the neo-Nazis of Kiev, their Western masters and all kinds of national traitors. They wanted Russian soldiers to kill each other, they wanted soldiers and civilians to die, so that in the end Russia would lose and our society would split and suffocate in bloody internecine strife.

They rubbed their hands, dreaming of taking revenge for their failures at the front and during the so-called counteroffensive, but they miscalculated.

I thank all our military, law enforcement and special services who stood in the way of the insurgents, who remained true to their duty, their oath and their people. The courage and selflessness of the fallen heroic aviators spared Russia from tragic devastation.

At the same time we knew and know that the overwhelming majority of Wagner group fighters and commanders are also patriots of Russia, loyal to their people and their state. They proved this by their bravery on the battlefield, liberating Donbass and Novorossiya. There was an attempt to use them darkly against their brothers in arms, with whom they fought together for the country and its future.

Therefore, from the very beginning of events, measures were taken at my direct direction to avoid great bloodshed. It took time, among other things, to give those who had made a mistake a chance to come to their senses, to realize that their actions were firmly rejected by society and that the adventure they had been involved in had tragic consequences. and destructive for Russia and for our state.

I thank the soldiers and commanders of the Wagner Group who made the only right decision: they did not opt for fratricidal bloodshed, they stopped at the last line.

Today you have the opportunity to continue serving Russia by signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense or other security services, or to return to your loved ones, to your families. Anyone who wants can also go to Belarus. My promise will be kept. I repeat, the choice will be made by each of you, but I am sure it will be the choice of Russian soldiers who have realized their tragic mistake.

I am grateful to the President of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko for his efforts and contribution to the peaceful resolution of the situation.

But, again, it was the patriotic spirit of the townspeople, the consolidation of the entire Russian society that played a decisive role in those days. This support has enabled us to overcome the toughest trials for our Motherland together.

Thank you for this. Thanks to you
