Fallen Trees Block Trains, Thousands of Commuters Stuck in Zagarolo
The railway line connecting Rome to Cassino was interrupted due to trees falling on the tracks. The interruption caused considerable inconvenience to travellers, especially commuters returning from the capital, forcing four trains to stop at the Zagarolo station.
On board the blocked trains there are thousands of passengers, including many elderly people, women and children, who have been waiting for hours for information on the restoration of the line. Most of them have remained without concrete updates, sparking growing discontent. The railway staff distributed bottles of water, but this was not enough to calm the nervousness of those who, after long hours of waiting, complain about the lack of alternative solutions.
Several passengers expressed frustration at the failure to organize replacement buses that would have allowed them to continue their journey to their planned destinations. Some speculate that the problem, although apparently linked to bad weather, may be due to poor maintenance of the railway line, a recurring criticism from commuters who, all too often, find themselves traveling in precarious and undignified conditions.
Crews are working to remove fallen trees and restore traffic, but it is not yet clear how long it will take to resolve the situation. In the meantime, travelers are waiting, trying to remain calm in an increasingly difficult situation.
SECURITY UPDATE TRAINING: the railway line between Rome e Casino was finally restored around 21pm. The interruption, caused by trees falling on the tracks, caused an average delay of 200 minutes and left thousands of passengers stranded for hours.
