Today, at the Mipaaft, the presentation of the genetic indices of the Italian saddle horse developed in collaboration with the Sports Horse Research Center - Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Perugia.
The research carried out highlights the organization and design of flexible and totipotent statistical databases and models that can now be easily used to give indications and answers to questions from the breeding and sports world. Specifically, farmers can use information to support their choices and productive activities.
The complex technical-scientific work that led to the development of genetic indexes may represent the first structuring of a national horse system. All this leads not only to bridging the gap with nations at the forefront of the horse sector but to ensure that Italy can once again become competitive in equestrian scientific and cultural innovation that has always belonged to it.
