Iran: Beijing will defend the nuclear deal

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi confirms China's commitment to defending the nuclear deal signed in July 2015.

The promise of collaboration with Tehran was communicated to the head of Iranian diplomacy, Mohammad Javad Zarif, during the first stage of his diplomatic tour which aims to defend the agreement reached with the 5 + 1.

According to the Xinhua news agency, Wang promised to maintain "'an objective, fair and responsible position and to continue to work for compliance with the agreement".

Wang did not speak of the possible effects that Washington's decision to exit the agreement and to impose new sanctions will have on China's investment plans in Iran. In 2016, after international sanctions against Tehran were lifted, China and Iran decided to increase trade to $ 600 billion.
