Islamic state leader Baghdadi killed

Iraqi security sources told Reuters that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed during a US-led military operation in Syria.

The leader would be shot while trying to get his family out of Idlib to the Turkish border. The operation, taken after the detection of his hiding place in Brisha, a village on the Turkish border, was conducted with the use of warplanes and helicopters that identified and struck Baghdadi along with his bodyguard.

Iraqi security sources and two Iranian officials also confirmed the news by stating that they had received news of Baghdadi's death from inside Syria.
