Putin's "Peace": Intensifies Attacks in Kursk, Kills Hundreds of Ukrainian Soldiers

by Aniello Fasano

A few days after the suspension of US military aid and the blocking of intelligence information, Ukrainian losses are very serious. The US decision that has disoriented the Ukrainian authorities and all European allies is decisively helping the Russian advance along a critical part of the front, especially in Kursk, with the killing of many Ukrainian soldiers. As reported by Time “there are hundreds of dead Ukrainians. The biggest problem is morale", he added, "because the Ukrainian armed forces are fighting without some of their best weapons systems. And this is not because of Russian attacks but because of the American backtracking".

For his part, Trump, speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, when asked if the Russian president was taking advantage of the US pause in sharing intelligence information to attack Ukraine, said that he fully supports Putin's move because "he's doing what anyone else would do".

At this point, it is really not clear what the Tsar's real objective is: if Russia wants peace, why doesn't President Putin order his troops to stop and return?

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, declared herself very concerned about what has been happening in recent days “Russian missiles continue to hit Ukraine relentlessly, bringing more death and destruction. Once again Putin shows that he is not interested in peace. We must increase our military support, otherwise even more Ukrainian civilians will pay the highest price.” he wrote in a message on X. President Zelensky is sure that the Kremlin attacks show the whole world that Russia’s goals are unchanged. Putin will not stop, he will impose unacceptable conditions for peace and continue his advance by conquering more Ukrainian territory.

"Therefore, it is very important to continue to do everything possible to protect life, strengthen our air defense and tighten sanctions against Russia.“, adds Zelensky. “Everything that helps Putin finance the war must be broken“, the Ukrainian president stressed on Telegram. Just a few days ago, at least 30 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in a Russian missile attack on a training camp in the village of Cherkaske, in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Several attacks on Dobropillia, a city in the Donetsk region. Another 14 dead and 37 wounded. And according to the media, Kiev is considering withdrawing troops from the Russian region of Kursk due to heavy Russian attacks. Zelensky, in a post on Facebook, called the Russian attacks “despicable and inhuman”, telling what happened in the center of Dobropilia in Donetsk, “the Russian military launched two ballistic missiles. After our emergency services arrived on the scene, they launched another attack, deliberately targeting rescue workers and causing at least twelve deaths and thirty injuries. This is a despicable and inhumane intimidation tactic used far too often by the Russians.”

In this chaos comes the indiscretion of the British newspaper The Thelegraf according to which "Trump Wants to Remove 35 US NATO Soldiers from Germany and Relocate Them to Hungary”, citing sources close to the American administration. According to the source, Trump is angry because “Europeans seem to be pushing for war”, while Hungary maintains a positive relationship with Russia, confirmed also in the last extraordinary European Council where it opposed European aid to Kiev.
