Labeling: Hundred, commission makes agri-food products recognizable

“Environmental sustainability must be achieved in parallel with economic sustainability. The major environmental constraints of green architecture are inevitably associated with higher costs for producers. These costs cannot be compensated with the incentives of a CAP whose budget is systematically put under attack ”. Thus the Minister of Agricultural, Food, Forestry and Tourism Policies, Sen. Gian Marco Centinaio in his speech to the Agrifish Commission in Luxembourg.

"The commission can no longer afford to ignore the increasingly pressing request from farmers and taxpaying citizens to make agri-food products obtained in compliance with stricter rules recognizable by harmonizing the various labeling systems at EU level", he underlined Minister Centinaio. “This would allow, on the one hand, to enhance the Community agricultural productions and on the other to improve transparency towards the consumer with the possibility of recognizing the intrinsic quality of the various products”.
