Latina. Operation "MORO"

The Latina State Police is executing a precautionary custody order in prison issued by the Rome GIP at the request of the Rome Anti-Mafia District Directorate against members of Roma families in Latina, responsible for a murder committed in January 2010 with the method mafia and for purposes of mafia facilitation.

From the investigations, directed by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Rome and conducted by the policemen of the Latina Mobile Squad and the Operational Central Service, it emerged that the serious crime is part of the feud that broke out in 2010 in the province of Latina, between the Roma families CIARELLI-DI SILVIO on the one hand, and non-Roma groups on the other, aimed at obtaining control of the criminal activities of the Pontine territory.

As part of this feud, called the so-called Pontine Criminal War, the murder in question was the central point of a series of criminal conducts which, before or after it, led to the emergence of family clans of origins in the Pontine territory. Roma characterized by the ability to implement a power of intimidation typical of mafia organizations.
