Leonardo and PoliHub launch Innovathon, a technological challenge for millennials

The 8 June in Milan, a competition on the subject of autonomous navigation for the enhancement of innovative abilities and creativity of young talents

A Hackathon for young university students called to design and build a working prototype of an autonomous driving system. It's called “Innovathon”, it's a two-day marathon, dedicated to innovation and creativity, a business game thanks to which young talents will be able to measure their problem-solving skills through software and electronic solutions. Promoted by Leonardo, among the top ten companies globally in Aerospace, Defense and Security, together with PoliHub, the third university startup incubator in the world, Innovathon will be held on 8 and 9 June next at the headquarters of PoliHub, Innovation District & Startup Accelerator of the Politecnico di Milano, with the aim of stimulating the competition of recent graduates and undergraduates in STEM (Science, Technologies, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines on issues related to technology.

Through the Hackathon, an unconventional way of innovating to develop new ideas, participants will use their wealth of technical knowledge, putting creativity, adaptability, teamworking and problem solving skills to the test in a design challenge. Young university students will meet with professionals, industry experts and mentors to finalize projects through the tools and methodologies of the PoliHub network.

Candidates will be admitted to the competition either individually or in teams of a minimum of two up to a maximum of five people. Registration will be open until 23.59 on the next 2 June.

The jury will be composed of industry experts. A first prize will be awarded with a cash prize. Participants will also have the opportunity to get in touch with Leonardo's business reality, which will evaluate the possibility of specific insertion paths.

The competition demonstrates Leonardo's commitment to spreading scientific citizenship and enhancing the talent of the young generations, through collaboration with the academic world.
