Leonardo: new contracts for a total of 200 million USD

Leonardo, through the US subsidiary Leonardo DRS, has been awarded two contracts for approximately 200 million US dollars (USD), confirming its leadership in supporting, with technologically advanced solutions, the needs of the US Army.

The first contract, worth USD 132 million, is the first order for the production of the next generation computer systems, called Mounted Family of Computer Systems (MFoCS) II, for the US Army mission commands. The contract was awarded to Leonardo DRS by the US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The innovative system, developed by the Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business unit, has modular features and effectively supports the US Army's current modernization strategy of its ground and support combat vehicles as well as command posts.

The second contract, worth US $ 67 million, relates to the supply of infrared sensors installed on various types of ground combat vehicles. Specifically, Leonardo DRS will provide the US Army with the new second generation Forward Looking Infrared (SG-FLIR) horizontal integration kits. It is an infrared sensor capable of supporting fire control and surveillance on a number of US Army combat vehicles, including M1A1 Abrams tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles.

Leonardo DRS, based in the USA, operates in the Defense and Security sector providing products, services and integrated support to military forces, intelligence and defense agencies on an international scale.
