Leoy Merlin and Amazon, at the start of the innovative logistics hub south of Rome

(by Mario Galati) South of Rome, in Colleferro, global e-commerce giants have decided to invest in two highly innovative logistics centers. The reason for this strategic choice is given by the position of the Colleferrino municipality: motorway exit a few hundred meters from the area concerned, a railway station a couple of kilometers, less than an hour's journey from Fiumicino airport and half now from that of Ciampino. Another key factor is the presence of the Truck Village, an equipped rest area with all the comforts for transporters.

Obtained permission to build from the municipality of Colleferro la Vailog, a company specializing in the development of major works,  in the Slim area on the Via Palianense it will build a new logistics center on an area of 50 thousand square meters for the construction of a logistics center for the Leroy Merlin. Vailog had already received permission to build the distribution center two months ago Amazon.

According to the first indiscretions, Leroy Merlin should hire from 400 to 500 employees, while Amazon about 2 thousand, there will be undoubted advantages also for local industries.

The works will have to be completed within three years from the release of the authorization and Amazon has wasted no time so much so that bulldozers and trucks are already in action because there is the intention to proceed with the laying of the first stone by mid-May.

There seems to be still strict confidentiality on the entire operation, at the request of the permit concessionaire. The mayor of Colleferro Pierluigi Sanna without unbuttoning comments: "I hope both as an important newspaper of economics and finance writes, which in a report made known the arrival of Amazon in Colleferro ", but then adds and confirms: "ta few days together with Vailog we will lay the first stone. I hope the structure can host such important subjects”, Precisely Amazon and Leroy Merlin.
