Taken Tripoli airport by the seventh Brigade, declared a "military zone"

Local media report that the XNUMXth Brigade has taken control of Tripoli International Airport. They have already erected checkpoints and blocked some roads, declaring the area a "military zone".

The Libyan Address Journal reported that security sources from the Qasr Ben Ghashir Security Directorate and eyewitnesses of the region's inhabitants told local news agencies that the XNUMXth Brigade moved near Tripoli International Airport on Wednesday evening. while the rest of southern Tripoli is in normal conditions.

According to the Almarsa newspaper, eyewitnesses said gunshots were heard in the vicinity of the airport at exactly five in the morning continuously for nearly half an hour before calm returned to the region amid reports of a clash between the XNUMXth Brigade and the Abu Salim Central Security Force stationed in the leadership of Abdulghani Kalki, "Gneywa".

Meanwhile, "Gneywa's" forces have moved from the camp in the Abu Salim area towards the airport, while eyewitnesses confirmed that the XNUMXth Brigade has already moved to the Qasr Ben Ghashir area east of airport and stationed at the Camp Manara intersection, but no official comment from the two militia press offices.

This development around Tripoli is the first after the fragile cease-fire reached under the auspices of the UN Support Mission in Libya last September 25, after the bloody clashes that lasted a month and caused dozens of dead and wounded, followed by economic and security measures that falter from the Presidential Council.
