Libya in chaos, al Sarraj points the finger at Macron

The advance of Haftar's troops continues to conquer Tripoli. According to what was published on the Twitter page by the Lybia Observer at least 70 fighters from eastern Libya (called invaders) belonging to the forces of General Khalifa Haftar were arrested yesterday during the armed clashes between the government forces of Tripoli and those of Haftar in the district of Sawani and near Tripoli International Airport.

Harsh words uttered by Fayez al Sarraj, the recognized Libyan prime minister, who in the course of a televised speech pointed the finger at General Khalifa Haftar accusing him of "treason".

"We extended our hands towards peace - said al-Sarraj - but after the aggression by Haftar's forces and his declaration of war against our cities and our capital he will find nothing but strength and firmness".

Accusations are also being launched against Paris which appears to be supporting Haftar. The news was released by Al Jazeera who, quoting an official Libyan government source, announced that al-Sarraj presented a "strong protest" to the French ambassador to Libya, al Béatrice du Hellen, accusing Paris of supporting the Brigade of General Khalifa Haftar formally asking Ambassador to report her protest to her government and to the French President, Emmanuel Macron.
