Iran on the hunt for American diplomats and generals to avenge Soleimani

According to a report by American intelligence agencies, Iran is trying to avenge the assassination of the general Qassem Soleimani which took place in January of this year. Soleimani, head of the elite military corps, "the Guardians of the Revolution" was killed by a US drone attack during a visit to the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

The Politico website reported the news that the Iranian government authorized a plan to assassinate Lana marks, an American handbag designer of South African origin, a personal friend of the President of the United States Donald Trump. 66-year-old Marks has been made aware of the threat. The Politico website added that the attack involved Iranian agents stationed at the embassy of the Islamic Republic in Pretoria.

The Politico website also reveals that aside from this alleged plot, US intelligence agencies believe that Tehran is considering "several options" to avenge General Soleimani, including the assassination of American diplomats abroad as well as military commanders. On Monday, President Trump warned Iran on Twitter: "Any attack […], in any form, against the United States will have a response with an attack on Iran 1.000 times larger! ".
