Smart working

(by Marina Longo, Formez Communication and External Relations Department Secretariat and Aidr Partner) Covid has totally changed our life not only the daily one, but also the one that makes us enter the world of work.

Since the lockdown began, every office, both public and private, has created the famous “agile work” to be able to continue working from home without problems for the health of their employees.

At the beginning the employees were a bit perplexed, but in the end they got used to this type of work, indeed it is increasingly requested especially by women; as it allows to reconcile work and family more easily, also bringing positive effects on traffic and pollution.

To make Smart Working possible are digital technologies that allow you to choose where and when to work. Despite all the criticalities of the case, the Coronavirus emergency has led to raise the digital learning curve of employees and to win important resistances to change.

Many people have learned to use innovative collaboration tools, have interacted and coordinated efficiently as a team, and have maintained positive informal relationships. By means of video calls or shared video streaming, anyone connected can access the system in virtual mode and intervene in telepresence. People can interact with each other in real time, share textual content and images and exchange opinions.

In smart working, it is therefore very important to know how to use technologies and applications in order to communicate that they are:

  • video calls: allow you to maintain physical contact, even if virtual, and are essential for collaborating and managing projects in the best possible way.
  • work on shared files: to share ideas and contributions without the need to exchange documents to modify.
  • guarantee certainty in communications: to exchange information that is always validated, also thanks to institutional channels (e.g. apps).

In addition to offices, Italians are experiencing a great process of transformation and innovation of the services that the public administration offers to both citizens and businesses through the use of digital technologies.

Now a bit 'we all can no longer do without this technology, even people "no longer very young" have had to adapt to these new forms of communication using video calls to be able to see their children, their grandchildren and they succeed very well enough to never want to go back.
