But didn't they have to open Parliament like a can of tuna?

(by Massimiliano D'Elia) Yesterday the "soap opera" of Italian politics saw one of the worst episodes. Three hours and 45 minutes in the Chamber at the #Senato we witnessed the "decline", the debasement of the role that the highest Chamber of the #Repubblica should have. No institutional intervention, it seemed to be in the square. Only and only personal attacks and accusations often invented to mock or pillory the opponent.

The president of the Senate, the #Casellati force minister gave the floor to the prime minister, Giuseppe #Conte who, before starting the "famous and expected" communications, announced that at the end of the works he would go to the #Quirinale to resign. Giuseppe Conte's speech was monothematic in the first part: "stick properly ", its Minister of the Interior, Matteo #Salvini. He accused him, after 14 months of government together, of being "dangerous, authoritarian, worrying, irresponsible, opportunistic, ineffective, unconscious".

"Dear minister, dear Matteo, if you had agreed to come here to the Senate to report on the Russian affair, you would have prevented your prime minister from showing up in your place, and refused to share any information you have with him ... ". “Those who have responsibilities of responsibility should avoid, during rallies, approaching political slogans with religious symbols…”. "Matthew these behaviors have nothing to do with freedom of religious conscience, rather they are episodes of religious unconsciousness ...".

The unlikely when Senator grillino #Morra reiterated"I am president of the Antimafia, and I know well that in Calabria showing off a crucifix and rosary is a signal to the 'Ndrangheta!". Even worse when Matteo Salvini kissed the crucifix of the rosary, which promptly came out of his pocket when Giuseppe Conte wanded it on the subject of the ostentation of sacred objects.

In the second part of the speech, Giuseppe Conte spoke of programs and priorities for the country, on topics welcome to the left, winking at the PD benches. A resigned and very tanned Luigi Di Maio with wide eyes, mixed with resignation and terror, he listened to the next political leader of the Movement. Yes, because from the last "summit" in Grillo's villa, Luigi came out with broken bones: Casaleggio would have accused him of the latest polls that see the Movement between 7-8 percent.

Giuseppe Conte, for his part, thanks to his current popularity, aspires to be the head of the new government, at least so would the 5Stelle, entrusting Luigi Di Maio and Alessandro Di Battista with some ministry. Giuseppe Conte's aspirations were immediately "frozen" by the secretary of the Democratic Party, Nicola Zingaretti who asked for "discontinuity". Renzi, on the other hand, would not disdain a Conte bis, with some of his senators who are very loyal to the Government: “Pinotti immediately got excited and started giving interviews already at the end of the proceedings in the Chamber”.

Salvini in the evening went to the stage most congenial to him, Facebook and does not close: "Do you want to cut parliamentarians? Here we are. And if someone wanted to add a courageous economic maneuver to block increases and reduce taxes for ten million Italians, this is it".

Then the Captain proclaims himself a martyr: "Did you want a target? Here I am". Then he quotes Proust: "Very often to be able to understand that we are in love, perhaps even to become one, we must arrive on the day of separation". How to tell 5 Stars: we still have time to get back together.

A separate chapter on Matteo Salvini. In the Senate it showed signs of abating. At times he seemed awkward, especially when he had to intervene: he asked several times the members of the Senate presidency where he should speak from. The Captain appeared tired and not at ease in the Senate Chamber, he prefers the stage in the squares, he prefers to speak to the people. The initial embarrassment is probably due to the act that after the personal slaps received by Giuseppe Conte he had little time to digest the "offensive" words addressed to him by the Chief Executive.

Today at the 16.00 the Quirinale consultations begin with the smaller groups, tomorrow the big will be at the court of President Sergio Mattarella to give political solutions. The time requested by Mattarella must be very short, in ten days there will have to be a new Government, otherwise it will immediately return to the polls.

In these 445 days of government yellow-green a situation has jumped into everyone's eyes, especially those of the Italians. But shouldn't the grillini be the ones who would open the Chambers like a can of tuna? Apparently they opened and closed it immediately, constituting the new caste of the third Republic, capable of transforming themselves into a second dwarf by allying themselves with historical enemies, Renzi, Boschi, Lotti & Co., in order to  stay seated on comfortable parliamentary desks.

Matteo Salvini, despite having had the support of all his parliamentarians until yesterday, today is not known, perhaps he should have heard his colonels more and not acted on the emotional wave of the moment.

After the Europeans, given the clear indications of the Italians, he should have immediately withdrawn his ministers from the government and started a government crisis, at that juncture, more credible.

But didn't they have to open Parliament like a can of tuna?
