The Aquarius affair has turned on a spotlight on the migrant issue which for years has affected, in reality, only Italy. The line taken by the Italian government has had, for now, the desired effects. The countries of the European Union have, on several occasions to the sound of press releases, reaffirmed their firm will to treat the "Mediterranean" question with the necessary and utmost attention. In essence, the Italian line would finally open the eyes of those who pretended not to see. Salvini, however, immediately offered the Italian availability to welcome women and children, while many mayors, led by De Magistris, had proposed their cities as the docking site for the Aquarius, going against the decisions of the government in office. Salvini, in order not to antagonize the moderate Catholic electorate, also said that the famous rosary is always in his pocket and that the decisions taken in the affair are the result of common sense and full compliance with the indications of the Italians. Just yesterday, the success of the center-right team in the administrative offices have increasingly convinced the leader of the League that the path taken is the right one, the one that the Italians also expressed in the political elections. Also the Minister of the Interior and Deputy Prime Minister Salvini said before the meeting at Palazzo Chigi with Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte: "It is not possible that only the Italian coast guard and only the Italian Navy with the laughable participation of the European mission take on the task of patrolling and rescuing the migrants. We have set the point with the NGOs that do what they want. Then our coast guard and our navy will save lives, as they always have, but the other European countries please give us a hand. The state makes the state ”, said the deputy premier. “I am interested in the fact that there are no associations of dubious origin that take Italy for a refugee camp: we have never denied the principle of solidarity, simply from this week we are no longer exercising it alone. We are a member country of the European Union that has dozens of other members and therefore today means that we are no longer alone. Giuseppe Conte on his facebook profile commented with satisfaction on the turning point given by Spain. The requests of Italy are beginning to be heard.
