Milan Malpensa, emergency landing for an Iberia Airbus

(Giovanni D'Agata, "Rights Window") Half an hour of pure terror for 157 passengers and 6 crew members of Iberia flight IB 3254 which took off from Madrid-Barajas. A failure in the right reactor of the Airbus 321 Madrid-Malpensa caused an emergency at Milan Malpensa airport. Fortunately, the aircraft, carrying 157 passengers and 6 crew members, landed regularly at 18.21 pm, escorted by the fire brigade. The "green" emergency was triggered, that is the first level of alert of the Airport Emergency Plan, which provides that "the aircraft or its occupants may be subject to danger or that there is certain news of failure and malfunction of the aircraft such as not to require immediate declaration of emergency by the commander ". Due to causes under investigation, the Airbus - which took off from Madrid-Barajas at 16.19, 39 minutes late on the fixed time of 15:40 - accused the right engine failure in flight. A situation, however, managed without particular problems from the cockpit, so much so that the plane landed and then escorted by the firefighters to Gate 2 of Terminal 1 and already at 18.30 the emergency was declared over.
