Donation campaignThe "Innovation Day 2019 - Evolution of Change Strategies in Organizations" event was held this morning in Rome, at the Palazzo Aeronautica, promoted by the Managerial Innovation Office of the Italian Air Force as part of the organizational innovation initiatives and of change that has been going on for some time within the FA. The event, which is connected to the broader process of transformation and revision of the governance of the Ministry of Defense, represents a continuation of what was announced on the occasion of the symposium "Aeronautica Militare 4.0: 360 ° Innovation", held in September 2018 also at Palazzo AM.

Several authoritative interventions took place during today's event, in the presence of the Undersecretary of State for Defense, Hon.Angelo Tofalo, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Force General Alberto Rosso, and representatives of the Council National Research Institute, SDA Bocconi, Accredia and numerous universities.

Through the direct testimonies of the protagonists, who have experimented with the innovative managerial methodologies proposed internally and externally to the Armed Force, the path of change that the Air Force has undertaken for several years has been illustrated, underlining the strategic importance for all Organizations, public and private, to equip themselves with a new "Methodological Capacity of Organizational Innovation", through which to manage complex, interoperable and international environments, with wide criticality and limited availability of financial and human resources. A “MODEL” was thus presented that can be transferred to all public and private entities in the country system.

To open the event, Colonel Luca Parmitano, pilot of the Italian Air Force and ESA astronaut, who from the International Space Station declared: "Many of the innovations born in the space environment allow us today to respond to the fundamental challenges that humanity must face; all challenges that require us to constantly and continuously rethink our intervention strategies in highly critical contexts with limited availability of financial, human and technological resources. Strategies that to be effective must continuously evolve and innovate. The name of the current mission of the International Space Station is significant in this sense: “Beyond”, Beyond ”.

"Humility and determination", these are the words that General Rosso wanted to underline as "indispensable principles in any complex reality, fundamental when it comes to innovation: the humility of knowing how to listen and understand critical issues and needs to find innovative solutions, the determination to involve and convince to implement change. In concluding his speech, he then added "It is essential to innovate but it is also essential to maintain that intellectual energy to continue to pursue the objectives in which we believe".

The Hon. Tofalo, at the end of the event, declared: “The Air Force is the youngest Armed Force, endowed with a strong ability to approach new challenges and a strong propensity for technology; applying the principles illustrated today we will be able to define the future path of the Armed Forces ".

During the morning, the projects involving the Armed Force were presented, including the "COPPI" methodology (Organizational Climate and Innovative Potential Performance), designed with the aim of testing and implementing tools for enhancing the innovation potential of human resources, and the "360 ° Feedback" methodology aimed at developing the work performance of the Air Force management. Projects that led to the recognition, in July 2019, by ACCREDIA, of the General Office for Managerial Innovation of the Aeronautical Staff as Certification Body (CB) for the professional figures of Project Manager, Quality Manager and Auditor of Management Systems.
