Military Court of Appeal confirms acquittal for ex n. 1 Aeronautics. Precious: "Armed Force can be proud legitimacy of the command action of its former Chief"

As reported by the Ansa, the Military Court of Appeal of Rome confirmed the acquittal of the former Chief of the Air Force, the general Pasquale Preziosa, who had been indicted for "threats to an inferior": a crime that he allegedly committed, according to the accusation, against some officers with the aim of prejudicing the career of another Air Force general, Carlo Magrassi, former Secretary General of Defense, advisor to the former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and today adviser for the industrial policy of the Minister of Defense Elisabetta Trenta.

The Court has in fact declared inadmissible the appeal brought by the power of attorney against the sentence of acquittal of first degree. The office of the PG is now waiting to know the reasons for the decision of the Court to evaluate the possible appeal to the Supreme Court. Also acquitted were two officers, close collaborators of Preziosa, accused of having contributed to the crime, the general Gianpaolo Miniscalco and the colonel Antonio Di Lella.

In a statement issued to Ansa, the general Precious said:

"The legitimacy of the command action of the Chief of Staff was clarified, who followed, to the letter, all the regulations in force to enforce the laws that regulate their work. Command is first of all a duty for an officer and whoever thinks differently from what has been said is wrong. The Armed Force, which has been unjustly examined, can today be proud that nothing has been found except the legitimacy of all the acts in force. In my period of command of Stormo I made war with Tornado aircraft in Bosnia: war flights require, responsibility, precision, common sense, make you sweat because you have to make the right decision in every moment of the flight, even if long. This is what I learned in my aviation life to defend my country. Who has not done the real war with another".
