The European Multi-Mission Frigate (FREMM) Carlo Margottini, after having recently crossed the Suez Canal, entered Djibouti today where it will stop until 31 January, the first stage of the naval campaign in the Middle East and the Arabian Sea (MOMA), which sees the Naval unit of the Italian Navy carry out presence and surveillance activities in the area, to protect the maritime traffic lines of national interest.

The campaign is also part of the activities carried out in the field of international cooperation and dialogue between the countries of the area with which Italy has important political-diplomatic, economic and industrial relations, thus representing an important opportunity to promote the "Country System" in an integrated way, flanking and supporting the activities of important representatives of the national defense industry such as Fincantieri, Leonardo, MBDA and Electronics, whose collaboration with the Navy and the Defense has made it possible countryside.

Leaving Djibouti, ship Margottini will stop in Karachi (Pakistan), where he will take part in the "Aman 2019" exercise with the Pakistani navy and naval units of other 19 countries, in Abu Dhabi to participate in the "Naval Defense Exhibition "(NAVDEX 2019) in the context of "International Maritime Defense Exhibition & Conference " (IDEX 2019), in Damman (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait City (Kuwait), Doha (Qatar) and Muscat (Oman).

The frigate Carlo Margottini, under the command of the frigate captain Marco Guerriero, is the third unit of the Italian-French program FREMM (European Multi-Mission Frigate) and the second in the ASW version (Anti Submarine Warfare).
