Minister Patuanelli intervenes on supply chain contracts

“Another fundamental project of the PNRR takes shape. The fifth call for supply chain contracts, financed with over 1,2 billion euros from the complementary investment fund of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, was published, unlocking huge resources for the agri-food sector. The beneficiaries of the funding will be companies that contribute directly to the production, collection, processing and marketing of agricultural and agri-food products and companies that provide services and means of production.

Supply chain contracts are a tool that I immediately strongly wanted to implement in my mandate as Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies because they represent one of the best ways to promote integration between the different subjects of the supply chains in terms of improving organizational relations, commercial, income distribution and environmental impact. In a period characterized by serious problems, supply chain agreements can help rebalance the distribution of value along the supply chain and support investment programs that are sustainable from an environmental point of view and innovative from a technological point of view.

Together with Agrisolare, projects worth 1,5 billion euros already at an advanced stage, and projects for the resilience of the irrigation sector, the supply chain opposites represent an important opportunity for Italian agriculture. The PNRR will proceed with the development of logistics and with further measures for innovation and mechanization ”.
