A concrete commitment is needed: only in this way can we give answers to the environment, to producers and to quality work.
Sustainability is the key word of the National Strategy for the Agricultural, Agri-Food, Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture System which, during the General States, was delivered to President Conte, included in the Masterplan "We plan the relaunch" in the form of cards and additional investments for 4 billion. This was reiterated this morning by Minister Teresa Bellanova, during the day "Fai Bella l'Italia", organized by FAI, the food and environmental federation of the CISL and dedicated to the theme of "Restart
“Sustainability,” said Bellanova, “must represent our priority drop point. There can be no protection of the soil, earth, air, water, protection of the landscape and biodiversity, green future, without a centrality of agriculture oriented around the three essential pillars: environmental, social, economic ".
And again: “I also reiterated this yesterday during the Agrifish which signed the closure of the Croatian Presidency. The future CAP must contain particularly ambitious environmental and climate objectives, in order to favor production processes that are more oriented towards sustainability. But the level of environmental ambition must necessarily take into account the resources we will have available. Our farmers will in fact be able to follow the path we are tracing, only if the commitments to be implemented are adequately compensated. A concrete commitment is needed. Only in this way can we give answers to the environment, to producers and to quality work, and concretely realize the green future that we all envision ".
As for the agri-food sector whose centrality coincides "with a significant part of the national interest", said the Minister, "acting as a system is essential: each link in the chain is strongly interdependent on the others. These dramatic months give us a lesson: the very strong intertwining of food supply and the need for everyone to have food, healthy and safe.
Guarantee of food supply and the fundamental role of agri-food systems are essential. The right to food for everyone, even and especially of the most fragile and exposed areas, food quality and safety, protection and safeguard of the territory and landscape, protection of precious resources such as soil, water and air "are strongly interconnected.
