MiPAAF: Minister Patuanelli at the "Techagriculture Italy-Israel meeting"

Innovation, sustainability and agritech at the center of the intervention.

Innovation in agriculture, food security, resource production in compliance with food sustainability, Agriculture 4.0. These are the issues touched on today by the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies Stefano Patuanelli, during his speech at "Techagriculture meeting Italy-Israel: Agriculture meets innovation", underway in Naples and promoted by Confagricoltura, Embassy of Israel, the Municipality of Naples and the University of Naples Federico II.

Minister Stefano Patuanelli intervened highlighting the importance of strengthening research in the technological field in order to be able to counter the serious consequences of climate change and the lack of resources. These challenges can and must be overcome also thanks to international cooperation such as that between Italy and Israel. Producing quality food, making it available to everyone and obtaining it with the lowest environmental impact must be one of our main objectives.

Minister Patuanelli then recalled the importance of the 4.0 measure in agriculture, promoted by the Minister himself with the multi-year Transition 4.0 package, and which now more than ever is proving fundamental in a historical phase that sees the planet threatened by geopolitical instability. from the energy crisis and climate change. Italy has made numerous progress but it is necessary to implement the use of new technologies through the creation of transfer structures that provide services to small entrepreneurs and help them to be present in the markets. Through the correct use of innovation, Patuanelli highlighted in concluding his speech, we can avoid the risk of food homologation and at the same time guarantee the distinctiveness and excellence of the agri-food sector and its link with history, tradition and territories: “The One Health strategy cannot be confused with One Diet. A pill cannot replace food. Innovation never means homologation, but enhancement of excellence ".
