Mipaaf: Minister Patuanelli opens the 54th edition of Vinitaly

"It is the edition of the recovery, followed by an incredible 2021 with 7,100 billion in exports: food exports have made all the records, it is a strong supply chain, which works", said the Minister of Agricultural Policies Stefano Patuanelli, at the inauguration ceremony of the 54th edition of Vinitaly, in the presence of the president and general manager of Veronafiere, respectively Maurizio Danese and Giovanni Mantovani, the president of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, the ICE President, Carlo Ferro, the Mayor of Verona, Federico Sboarina, and of the President of the Province of Verona, Manuel Scalzotto.

Minister Patuanelli from the stage of the Verdi Auditorium of the Verona Fair underlined the importance of the return in the presence of Vinitaly, which over time has managed to interpret and promote the growth of a great Italian product that has become a symbol of Made in Italy in the world.

Vinitaly, as highlighted by the Minister, comes at a particularly critical moment not only for the agri-food sector, but for the whole world, due to the geopolitical crisis in progress, a conflict that has exacerbated an already difficult context due to the problems caused by the pandemic Covid and energy costs.

Patuanelli, after having listed the record numbers of exports in the wine sector, underlined how Italy should aim to be the first producer in the international market, an objective to be achieved because wine represents our country in the world and there are all the possibilities to make the Italian wine supply chain grow.

Finally, the government, Patuanelli assured, is working both at national and European level to implement all the necessary measures to protect the markets and resume, when possible, all promotional activities. From the stage of the 54th edition of Vinitaly he then anticipated the arrival of a new decree after Easter for high prices, a central theme at this time for all production sectors.
