Digitization of the identification of agricultural parcels of the national territory which will facilitate the presentation by farmers of aid applications in graphic format and the execution, by the administrations, of management and control activities. This is the objective of the SIPA (Single system for the identification of agricultural parcels) which became law with the conversion of the Simplifications decree and on whose implementation an agreement was reached today in the State-Regions Conference.

"The SIPA represents an important technological innovation for the digitization and improvement of services in agriculture - declares the Undersecretary for Agricultural Policies, Giuseppe L'Abbate, who participated in today's session for Mipaaf in videoconference - Farmers will be facilitated in the presentation of applications for help and will have to confirm or update their company file annually which, starting from 2022, will also contain information relating to the register of treatments and fertilizations in the field book ".

The LPIS is a single national register of all agricultural areas and is based on the archive of digital orthophotos coming from the area or satellite shots of the territory which allows the acquisition of qualitative and quantitative data, divided into agricultural parcels and represented on an information system geographical territorial. Agea will create and update the LPIS through interpretation techniques of orthophotos and satellite images as well as based on the outcome of the administrative authorization procedures and checks carried out on the territory, taking into account the technological evolution of the digital systems that support the use of graphic and geospatial applications. The updating of the entire national agricultural area, using photo-interpretation techniques on high resolution orthophotos, will take place at least every three years.
