The Dairy Industry Supply Chain Table chaired by Minister Stefano Patuanelli took office today at the Ministry of Agricultural Policies.
Established by the Minister's Decree on 12 November, following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the protection of Italian farms, with consultative and monitoring tasks, and to discuss measures to deal with the emergency and address the structural problems of the supply chain, the For the first time, the table sees the involvement of all the players in the sector: agricultural organizations, agricultural cooperative associations, companies active in processing and distribution, the Ministry and the Autonomous Regions and Provinces Conference of Trento and Bolzano.
During the meeting, the point was made on the Memorandum of Understanding, closed ten days ago, underlining the satisfaction for having reached an important agreement shared by the entire supply chain and which allows farmers to rebalance the distribution of added value along the supply chain. value.
Minister Patuanelli, in particular, underlined the need to implement the Memorandum of Understanding in order to achieve in the shortest possible time all the objectives that the entire supply chain, from associations to large-scale distribution, has set for itself.
"Today, underlined the Minister, a new phase begins in which the Ministry will have the task of accompanying the supply chain on a virtuous path with the collegial contribution of all the players in the sector, with the aim of addressing all the problems of one of the most important supply chains of our agri-food heritage ".
During the meeting, the relevant issues affecting the sector and the most urgent issues to be addressed, including the rise in prices and the costs of energy and transport, were outlined.
