Illustrated distribution of regional irrigation funds

An agreement was reached in the State-Regions Conference on important measures strongly desired by the Minister for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, Stefano Patuanelli and intended for the support and development of agricultural supply chains, with the green light for a series of changes relating to the Extraordinary Plan for the olive regeneration of Puglia and the modalities for the assignment of contributions in favor of PDO, PGI and organic wine producers.

In detail, important changes have been made to the Extraordinary Plan for the olive regeneration of Puglia which aim to broaden the range of action for the contrast of Xylella fastidiosa vectors and to include plant destruction operations in the compensation as well.

The green light was also given to the draft decree, in agreement with the Ministry of Tourism, relating to criteria and methods for the assignment of contributions in favor of PDO, PGI and organic wine producers who also carry out agritourism and enotourism activities. to encourage the promotion of the territories, also from a tourist point of view, and recover the ancient traditions linked to the food and wine culture of the country through the use of modern digital systems.

During the State-Regions Conference, the criterion for the regional allocation of funds available for irrigation infrastructures was illustrated, complementary to that already assigned with the provision of Mission 2 Component 4 (M2C4) of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), called “Investments in the resilience of the irrigation agrosystem for a better management of water resources”. The allocation of funds will take into consideration a composite indicator that considers various elements combined with each other based on the financial needs for the construction of the works (regional and national) and on the contribution already received at regional level from the PNRR investments.
