The presentation of the Absolute Italian Olympic and Paralympic Championships in Naples, which will be held from 4 to 7 June at the PalaVesuvio, was held today at the International Tourism Exchange, underway in Milan. Present at the event, among others, the president of Federscherma (FIS), Giorgio Scarso, and Diego Occhiuzzi, three times Olympic medalist and organizer, with the Milleculure association, of which he is president, of the Italian Championships.
"Naples has given me so much, for me it is a source of pride to bring such an important competition to the city - said Diego Occhiuzzi -, there is the opportunity to appreciate great athletes like Bebe Vio and Aldo Montano live, five thousand people are expected between insiders and visitors, it will be a great sport festival and an opportunity to make fencing even more known. From the Universiade last year, Naples has returned to being the capital of sport in Italy ”.

For the president of the Italian Fencing Federation, Giorgio Scarso, "Naples 2020 is a very important stage in view of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The FIS has planned its activities in the best possible way, with the desire to make fencing a sport within everyone's reach, also through figures such as Diego Occhiuzzi, a point of reference for generational turnover among managers ".
