A vast illicit traffic of waste was discovered by the Local Police of Naples which, produced in Chiaia, was disposed of in Scampia.
Following the monitoring activities of the territory carried out by the Local Police of Naples in order to combat the phenomenon of abandonment and incineration of waste, the Agents of the Environmental Protection department have identified an exercise of illegal disposal of aggregates which, collected in several building sites opened in the Chiaia district were transported to Scampia.
The men of the Local Police, after carrying out various stalking and shadowing, were able to fully reconstruct the illicit disposal chain of special waste which, managed by a building materials resale company without the requisites to carry out this activity, were collected in several premises located in Chiaia and transported to the district of Scampia where, without authorizations or suitable precautions to limit soil and air contamination, a real landfill had been set up.
The agents then managed to trace and identify both the owner of the building material resale, this PL, 42, resident in Secondigliano, and the manager of the transport company, MG, 33, resident in the Camaldoli area, denouncing both to the judicial authority for the illegal management of special waste. The premises transformed into a landfill, together with the van used for the crime, were placed under judicial seizure.
